Hershey's Chocolate Town Cookies

recipe from a pack of Hershey's Semi-Sweet Dainties from a zillion years ago

Preheat... oven to 375F

Cream...
1/2 cup shortening
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
... until light and fluffy

Fold in...
well-beaten egg
... and beat entire mixture

Sift...
1 cup + 2 level tablespoons sifted flour
1/2 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

Add...
sifted dry ingredients to creamed mixture and stir in
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 cup (6 ounces) Hershey's Semi-Sweet Dainties
... and mix thoroughly

Drop...
by small spoonfuls on greased baking sheet

Bake...
about 10 minutes

Yield...
50 cookies

Notes:
I doubled the recipe
I used heaping teaspoons
My nuts were walnuts - chopped up was too small, try just breaking them up
